Archangel St. Jhudiel 10 1/4"
The Archangel St. Jhudiel Statue is an angel that is popular in the Eastern Orthodox tradition. Jhudiel, sometimes known as Jegudiel or Jehudiel, is considered to be the bearer of God's merciful love, as well as the angel who advises and defends all those who work in positions of responsibility to the glory of God, often thought of to be figures like kings, judges, and the like. Jhudiel is often considered to be the angel of Friday (some variant traditions have angels presiding over the seven days of the week). This statue depicts the angel as a powerful figure with great wings and a broad halo. Dressed in armor, this figure looks like a warrior, yet he does not present himself as one, instead holding only a length of cloth in one hand and a rosary, clasped over his blazing heart, in the other. Cold cast resin. 7 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 10 1/4"
